Star Wars Legion: Han Solo & Commandos

Han and the first squad of rebel commandos are ready to hit the table!

As with Luke, I painted Han's base in a gold color.  I'm planning to do this with all commanders to make them stand out.

I had a difficult time with the eyes on this one.  It seems they are sculpted as deep recesses.  This makes for striking detail when unpainted, but also makes the eyes near impossible to paint.  I think I could have been successful if I had painted the eyes first or even filled them in with a tiny amount of green stuff; it may have required the liquid kind.

I fee like I pretty much nailed the camo on his duster.

Prune Face!  Are those Jarts in his cloak?  I really like this sculpt, for its uniqueness.  The problem is it will look weird to have multiples of them in your army.

I expect people will take multiple sniper teams.  Seems kinda weird for them all to be Mon Calamari.  I would really like a sniper miniature similar to the illustration on the card.

This guys arm did not fit flush with his body.  I didn't notice the problem until it the glue was already set.

Star Wars Legion: Rebel Troopers

Last week I finished another squad of Rebel Troopers.  Finally, I can field a fully painted (though not every competitive) 800 point force.

Painting the same seven guys (and girls...and alien) gets older after awhile.  I tried to mix things up this time with some extra Warhammer bits.

I imagine this head is a go to conversion for those using Imperial Guard bits.

The grenade-throwing arm works pretty well on this guy.  I added armored shoulder pads to a few more rebel troopers in the squad so he wouldn't look too out of place.

Arm swap and re-positioning of the head.  It took a little green stuff to make everything come together.  Also added some grenades.

Simple arm swap.  A little green stuff sealed the deal.

Reminds me of Ramirez from Aliens.

No change other than some added grenades.

Same story as above.

Star Wars Legion: Another AT-RT

Finished my second AT-RT.

I altered the pilot a little bit by using the Rebel Trooper Unit Leader's arm with macro-binoculars.

This one has a yellow clone-era paint scheme under the Rebel markings.

I painted it up in primer red in some parts.  This is to make it look hastily repaired with a limited supply of parts.

Flame-thrower option.

Here are the AT-RT together.  Now that I see them side-by-side, I wish I had done a different paint scheme on the second pilot.

Star Wars Legion: AT-RT

With the completion of my first AT-RT, I can say I've fully painted the rebels from the core set.

Most of the streaking effect was achieved using enamel washes.  I used AK Interactive's Natural Grey wash for the shading and streaking.

Rebel Alliance markings have been painted on top of the older paint scheme from the Clone Wars.

Like my airspeeder, I covered the base, obscuring the facing lines.  I added markings along the side of the base.  Hopefully, this will still work out on the gaming table.  I haven't actually tried it yet.
